Viaje en auto particular:
- Para llegar a Cajatambo desde Lima, tienes dos opciones principales: la primera es la ruta más directa por la Carretera Panamericana Norte, donde tomas un desvío en Pativilca (kilómetro 202) y sigues una pista de una sola vía que te lleva directamente a tu destino en aproximadamente 5 a 6 horas. La segunda opción, más larga pero pintoresca, es la ruta por la Carretera Central del Norte, que pasa por Sayán y Churín antes de seguir el camino que atraviesa Oyón para finalmente llegar a Cajatambo; este recorrido toma de 7 a 8 horas y es ideal para quienes desean disfrutar de las vistas de la sierra de Lima. Ambas desde el 2023 son pista de una sola vía, pues antes solamente estaba afirmado, sin embargo la vía es angosta en algunos tramos por lo que es recomendable viajar de día y con precaución.
- Condiciones del camino: Ten en cuenta que, si bien la Panamericana Norte es una vía asfaltada, el tramo desde Pativilca hasta Cajatambo es una pista de una sola vía, por lo que es importante conducir con precaución y verificar las condiciones de la vía, especialmente en temporada de lluvias.
Consideraciones importantes:
- Planificación: Antes de viajar, es aconsejable verificar los horarios y precios de las empresas de transporte, ya que pueden cambiar.
- Clima y equipamiento: Cajatambo se encuentra a una altitud considerable (3,350 m.s.n.m.), por lo que el clima es frío. Es fundamental llevar ropa abrigadora y calzado adecuado si planeas hacer caminatas.
